amine-terminated and treated with DNA but without a linker aggregated and
precipitated in the buffer solution. Finally, the covalent method did not affect
the hybridisation properties of the conjugated DNA, as demonstrated by the
speciic interaction with a complementary sequence. Interestingly, the same
results were obtained after denaturation with 8.3 M urea solution and re-
hybridisation experiments. The results obtained in this study demonstrated
that the covalent conjugation of DNA allowed an excellent accessibility of the
sequences, which most probably are not wrapped around or intercalated
