solution, 150 gmf was obtained and, under 5-V electric field, it
reached 100 gf for 20 min of operation. A 6 gf was obtained, which was more than
the ones obtained in previous experiments. After the experiments, decolorization of
some PAN fibers was found. This was caused by hypochlorite (HOCl) produced
during the electrolysis of sodium chloride solution.
In general, HOCl can cause appalling effects on a polymer structure that may
retard or weaken the PAN muscle during the operation. In searching for other
