Cylindrical
The texture coordinate layout for a cylinder is similar to that of a cube. The difference
is that, while they both have a single seam tracing their perimeter, the cylinder has
only two edges that meet in a single seam, but a cube has eight (Fig. 10.7 ). This
is because of the two fl aps on either side of the cube that seal its top and bottom.
If the cylinder were closed, it would have more seams because it too would have
fl aps at top and bottom.
