DAY 7
Fledglings
By the end of the first week, your chicks' baby flu# is molting quickly. They're devel-
oping wing feathers - which look like feathered car doors - and the tail feathers are be-
ginning to poke out of their bums.
Their behavior is rapidly changing, as well. Drop a wad of tissues in the brooder and
you'll notice immediate response and reaction. They'll duck, run around it, or walk up
and explore it. Their minds are getting sharper, and so is their self-awareness.
As week one ends, feathers begin to replace flu” on the wings and tail .
