In-Depth Information
• To load the node's Properties panel in the Properties Bin, all you need to do is
double-click the node. Newly created nodes' Properties panels load automatically.
• To remove a node's Properties panel from the Properties Bin, click the close panel
button. You do this for various reasons, chief of which is to get rid of on-screen
controls that are in the way.
• Sometimes you want to clear the Properties Bin for specific functions, and to keep
things organized. To do this, click the Empty Properties Bin button.
Note
IfyouhoveryourmousepointerovertheEmptyPropertiesBinbuttonatool-
tip appears that reads: Remove all panels from the control panel bin. Don't
let that confuse you. The button is called Empty Properties Bin. The tooltips

• You can open more than one Properties panel in the Properties Bin at a time. How
many depends on the Max panels number box at the top left of the Properties Bin.
• The Lock Properties Bin button locks the Properties Bin so that no new panels can
open in it. If this icon is locked, double-clicking a node in the DAG displays that
node's Properties panel as a floating window.

• The Node Help button provides information about the functionality of the node.
• There is an interesting undo/redo functionality in Nuke. In addition to a general
undo/redofunctionintheEditmenu,thereisalsoanindividualundo/redofunction
for every node's Properties panel, as shown in Figure 2.27 . Using these buttons
undoes only the last actions in the specific node being undone, while actions done
in the interface and in other nodes are ignored.
