tants unwrap takeout fish tacos at their
desks; Mexican day laborers eat fish tacos
at hole-in-the-wall taquerías where Spanish
only is spoken. They're the hometown taste
of San Diego, a refreshing twist on Mexican
food that surfed up the Pacific coast from
Baja California and never left.
It's a simple concept—a warm tortilla
envelops small pieces of fried fish in a
