EU 'Web @ Classroom' 'Integrating ICT into the
Curriculum: investigating teaching and learning
outcomes in the permanently connected classroom'
Final Report. (Socrates ODL 87866) International
Innovation Award: 'ICT Best Practice in European
Education'. The findings from this international
research project underpin the work throughout the
text, which examines how teachers incorporate
technology into their professional practice; the factors
supporting and hindering change. This informs an
understanding of how policy at a national level effects
change; those countries in the project with a central
technology policy drive were more advanced than
those without.

The development and implementation of: Teacher
Training Resource Bank concept www.ttrb.ac.uk;
associated subject specific websites; SEN portal;
Multiverse and Behaviour for Learning sites.
Providing access to the research evidence base for
the teaching profession, specifically teacher training.
This development provided the sort of evidence-based
professional online resource bank as envisaged in
Figure 10.4 item 4.2. These sites were archived by the
2010 Conservative Liberal Coalition government in
the UK.
2002-2006 eep
Education Evidence Portal (www.eep.ac.uk) - providing
a search tool to search across high quality sources and
research - see Chapter 10, Figure 10.4, item 1.1. Eep was
funded initially by a range of government agencies.
2002 British Council
ICT in Education in Mexico; ICT in Education in
Hong Kong . The findings compared practice in the
use of technologies in classrooms in these countries
with the UK. The findings from this research
underpin the work on policy in the text. In particular,
this informs an understanding of how policy at a
national level effects change in the school education
system of a country.
2000-2002 DFID
ICT for non-formal education (CERP project). This
research informs an understanding of the uses
of technology that promote learning outside the
classroom.
