community with a unique dataset coming from one of the most dense networks of
Eddy Covariance sites in Europe; this has been possible thanks to the financial sup-
port of the CarboItaly FISR project and a number of European research projects, in
particular EuroFlux, CarboEuroFlux, CarboEuropeIP and GHG-Europe. However,
all this could not have been possible without the professional and qualified contri-
bution of a number of scientists, PhD students and technicians who devoted large
portions of their time to the collection of these measurements, often in difficult
meteorological conditions, and then decided to share their data with colleagues
around the World in name of the scientific progress. For this reason the main cred-
