5. Set Module to .8 mm and Center Distance to 50.000 mm.
Now you need to make changes to the specifications for the indi-
vidual gears.
6. Use the drop-down to change Gear1 and Gear2 from being com-
ponent to features. The Component option will build a new part in
the assembly that can be fitted to the shaft. The Feature option will
modify the shaft, and the No Model setting is used as a reference to
develop the gear that mates to its values.
7. Set the Facewidth value for both gears to 13 mm, and your dialog box
should now look like Figure 8.12.

8. Under Gear1, click the selection icon for the cylindrical face, and then
select the cylindrical face on the largest-diameter segment of the gray
shaft.
9. Click the selection icon for the start plane of Gear1, and click the flat
face on the same shaft segment.
10. Start the Cylindrical Face selection for Gear2, and click the large,
cylindrical face on the green shaft.
11. For the start plane of Gear2, click the large face on the same segment
of the green gear.
