Adaptivity is a great tool for sizing one component based on another, but using
it on too many features or parts can slow your performance. It is best used to
establish a size, and then it can be disabled to lock that size in.
Using the Shaft Generator
It is a simple process to create a shaft by revolving a half section or creating a
series of extrusions stacked end to end. The Shaft Generator design accelerator
constructs the shaft through a dialog box and lays out the segments of the shaft.
1. Make certain that the 2013 Essentials project file is active, and then
open the c08-05.iam file from the Assemblies\Chapter8 folder.
2. Hold down your Ctrl key and click the Shaft tool in the Power
Transmission panel of the Design tab.
