In-Depth Information
Now, you will need to use the Project Geometry tool, which is on
the Sketch tab in the Drawing panel and on the marking menu.
3. Use the Project Geometry tool to project the center point of the 3D
sketch and then to project the point at the center of the red sketch on
the wheel into the current sketch.
4. Create a sketch using the parameters and constraints shown in
Figure 7.2.
FIGURE 7.2 The sketch of the loft path
The sketch consists of three arcs and three lines. Remember that
you can create a tangent arc by clicking the endpoint of a line and
dragging the arc.
5. Be sure to finish the sketch. When you are modeling, you cannot save
a file while a sketch is active.
Now you have the pieces in place, so you can create your loft features.
Creating Loft Features
Loft features are created using the Loft tool, which offers several options. For
example, you can define whether sketches or model faces are used for profiles
(sections) and whether the paths will connect to the geometry. You will now use
this tool to create the wheel spoke.
