In-Depth Information
2. Zoom in on the isometric view in the upper-right corner.
3. Click and drag a window from left to right around the entire view.
4. When the lines in the drawing highlight, right-click and deselect
Visibility from the context menu. Figure 6.8 shows the result.
FIGURE 6.8 A view can have
visible edges removed for a more
pictorial look.
Once an edge has been suppressed, it will remain that way even if the geom-
etry changes size. New geometry added to the components will appear in the
drawing view, so it is good practice to monitor suppressed edges.
TIP You can restore edges that you've made invisible by right-clicking
the view and selecting Show Hidden edges from the context menu. The hid-
den edges will highlight, and you can pick the ones you want visible again.
When you're finished, select Done from the context menu or even Show All.
Break View
When a part is long or has a large portion that consists of the same geometry,
a break view can remove a portion of the drawing to make it easier to detail the
dissimilar portions.
1. Verify that the 2013 Essentials project file is active, and then open
c06-08.idw from the Drawings\Chapter6 folder.
2. Zoom out until you can see the entire drawing view as it extends
beyond the border of the drawing.
3. On the Place Views tab, locate and start the Break tool in the Modify
panel.
4. Click the Drawing view to open the Break dialog box.
