Changing Part Drawing Behavior
In this exercise, you will modify how the Autodesk® Inventor® software pro-
cesses generating the drawing view of certain parts in the assembly:
1. Verify that the 2013 Essentials project file is active, and then open
c06-04.idw from the Drawings\Chapter6 folder.
2. Double-click the break out view to edit it.
3. Deselect the Style From Base check box.
4. Select the Shaded icon, and click OK to update the view.
In Figure 6.5, you can see there are a couple of errors. The first is
that the screw and washer appear to be floating in the middle of the
view. The second is a gear that is sectioned because of the way it was
created. The third item flagged is not a mistake, but I want to show
the seal on the shaft sectioned.

FIGURE 6.5 You can control whether parts are sectioned or even
visible in a drawing view.
When you move your cursor over the view, all the edges highlight
as you pass over them. By default, Inventor uses an Edge priority for
selecting geometry in a drawing. You want Inventor to highlight the
parts as you pass over them instead. This will make selecting them
much easier.
