FIGURE 3.19 A three-point rectangle can be placed at any initial angle.
7. Stop the Rectangle tool by pressing the Esc key or by selecting
Cancel from the marking menu.
The new rectangle will eventually be revolved so that even though
you are looking only at the side, it would be best to dimension it as
its final diameter. Using the Centerline override, you can get the
dimension tool to recognize this.
8. Click the short edge of the rectangle that is collinear with the 30 mm
line, and then pick the Centerline override from the Format panel.
9. Start the Dimension tool, and click first the centerline and then the
opposite end of the rectangle.
10. Place the dimension, and set its value to 110 mm. See Figure 3.20.
11. End the Dimension, tool and drag the top edge of the rectangle down
so it is positioned below the end of the 30 mm line.
12. Restart the Dimension tool, and place a 10 mm dimension for
the thickness by picking long lines at the top and bottom of the
rectangle.
13. Finish the Dimension tool and editing the sketch.
Let's keep building on your part. Moving forward, you will be switching files
because some of the basics will be prepared for you so you can focus on new things.
