The WordPress Showcase shown in Figure E.8 highlights famous, notable, and unique uses of
WordPress across the Web. Automattic staff selects the sites to showcase based on things they see
and on submissions. This offers potential users a sense of the “big players” who are already part of
the WordPress community. It also offers current users some inspiration about the kinds of innova-
tive and creative things you can do with your own site.

Click on any link in the Showcase to view commentary on why a site was selected. Click Visit Site
(or the graphic) to check out the site yourself. When you return, offer your own commentary by giv-
ing the site a star rating.
You'll find navigational aids on the left, via the tagging system. Each site is tagged based on the
flavor of the software it's using (WordPress, WordPress.com, WordPress MU, BuddyPress) and the
type of site it is or area it covers (news, college, technology, personal, and the like).
Featured and Recently Added sites are located in the center of the main Showcase page, offering
another entry point into the system. The right column displays the user rating results.
