New Kids on the Block
New Kids on the Block are very famous in the United Kingdom and some other countries, less so in
some others. They stopped performing for a while but have recently come back.
Their blog is located at http://nkotb.com/blog/—try saying “nkotb” three times fast! The New Kids
on the Block blog is a simple WordPress blog. You'll recognize the archives list, similar to hundreds
of other WordPress blogs you've seen.
You could put together a blog like this yourself, using the WordPress software or even
WordPress.com. Some of the content is of wider interest than most of us could get—for example,
video clips with band members and tickets for their upcoming concerts. (I suppose we, the authors
of this topic, could do a video interview with each other. But if we performed in concert, somehow
it's unlikely that TicketMaster would be handling the tickets!)
The formats, though, are familiar. The videos are hosted on YouTube, there's a simple categoriza-
tion of posts into Blog posts and News posts, and other familiar WordPress blog elements.
So the New Kids on the Block site is a great example of the type of thing you could hope to do your-
self—and perhaps even take further than the New Kids have.
