Customizing Your Dashboard
Not everyone will like how things are displayed on their Dashboard. If you're one of them, know
that you can make it work for you any way you want. With just a few clicks, any module outside
of the navigation bar can be dragged to another part of the page, minimized, or be made to disap-
pear. You can also change any of the existing RSS feeds to point to another blog, if you want.
To move a module somewhere else: Click the title bar of any module and drag it where you want
it.
To minimize a module: Click on the downward-pointing arrow at the right edge of the module title
bar. All you will see then is the title bar. Click the arrow again to expand the module.
To remove a module: Go to Screen Options at the upper-right corner of the Dashboard (next to
Help). Clear the check box next to the module(s) you don't want to see anymore. (Yes, you can get
them back at the same place later.)
To change either of the RSS feeds: Hover the mouse over the title bar of either the WordPress
Development Blog or Other WordPress News module. Click Configure when you see it. Enter the
address of the RSS feed (not the blog address!), change the title, and make any other changes you
want in this dialog box. Click Submit when you're done. Unfortunately, you can't add any feeds
without dismissing one of these.
Figure 11.19 shows one example of what you can do.
