Does Google Love WordPress?
People who know more about SEO than we do claim that “Google loves WordPress”; that Google
seems to rank WordPress blog entries quite high on its search engine rankings. This was from a
conversation at a recent WordCamp, that is, a meeting of WordPress bloggers.
This is news to us; we both feel our main blogs, on Google Voice (Smith) and open source software
(McCallister) should get #1 rankings every time, but they don't. We find it reassuring to hear that
Google might be giving at least some WordPress sites an even break, or even a better break than
that.

Unfortunately, the reason for all this search engine traffic is that a lot of people want to get Google
Voice accounts, and the place to get a Google Voice account is Google. People searching for this
topic probably aren't interested in the latest news about Google Voice when they haven't gotten
Google Voice yet, though they might come back after they do.
Many of the visitors to Google Voice Daily who come in looking to download Google Voice might be
more annoyed than pleased to find the site, though it does have instructions on how to actually get
Google Voice.
