I Can't Find My Tags
The tags you assign to a post are listed at the bottom of your posting in your blog. They also
appear in the Tag Cloud widget, described in Chapter 4, which we recommend you use. You
can also choose to have tags appear in feeds of your blog posting, as described in Chapter 2.
Using and Creating Tags
When you add tags to a post, it doesn't matter if you've used them before or not. WordPress adds
the tag if it's new or counts it as a repeated use of the tag if not.
Follow these steps to add tags to a post:
1. In the main Add/Edit Post screen, click the down arrow on the Post Tags header, if needed, to
expand it.
2. Click the Choose from the Most Used Tags in Post Tags link to bring up an updated tag cloud for
your blog, as shown in Figure 5.7.

Use the built-in tag cloud
to remind you of tags.
caution
You should review the entire content of each blog posting for potential tags, including reviewing any images
and considering what tags might apply to them as well. Unfortunately, the full-screen view of your post doesn't
have a place to add tags. The most flexible and effective way to tag your post is to look at it in full-screen view
and write down tags on a piece of paper, then enter them as described here. Alternatively, copy your posting
into a word processor or text editor window, and delete phrases and sentences while copying and pasting, or
typing, words into a list of tags. At the end, you'll have deleted the entire posting and created a complete list of
applicable tags. Then enter the tags as described here.
