Review and
change which
categories a
post is in.
You can change categories and also tags in Quick Edit. However, in Quick Edit, you can't see the
content while you're doing it, which removes a major source of information needed for assigning
categories and tags. You also can't add a category from within Quick Edit. So it's best to get in
the habit of clicking Edit instead, unless you have a simple and specific change of categories
already in mind.
To return to the Categories page, click the Back button in your browser, or click Categories
under the Posts header in the leftmost column again.
If you really want to get your categories right, you need to be able to see a lot of information at
once: basically, all your posts and all your categories. The most effective way to do this is to print
out all your posts and physically sort them into piles by category. This engages your senses in a
way that working onscreen doesn't, and is likely to lead to the best results— best , that is, until
some new idea occurs to you for how to categorize your posts….
Tagging Your Posts
Tagging your posts should be simple and fun. At the same time, it's really important.
You should seek to do it well—not right because there's no one right way to tag your posts.
