Capital Categories
When you name categories, it's worth giving capitalization a bit of thought. We recommend that
you take the easy way out and only capitalize the initial letter and any proper nouns, such as peo-
ple's names and place names. It can seem cool and official to use title-case capitalization, in which
most words receive initial capitals (used in most of the headings in this topic and in newspaper
headlines).
However, this style is tricky; it can be very difficult to remember exactly which words don't get
capitalized, especially late at night when you should be in bed instead of blogging. Using initial
capitals for most words in titles is also gradually going out of style anyway. Strong use of initial
capitals is largely outmoded in British English, which is surprisingly (to an American) influential
internationally: in the UK itself, which is a huge technology market, in the British Commonwealth
(which includes India, for one example), across other former British imperial holdings (Hong Kong,
anyone?), and among readers of The Economist , just for starters.
Follow these steps to manage your blog's categories directly:
1. In the Administration area for your blog, in the left column, choose the Posts header, then
Categories.
2. The Categories management page appears, as shown in Figure 5.3.
