3.4.6 Shadows
You can also define how shadows appear for all assets. Use the Shadow section
in the Property panel to set the shadows. The button to the right of the Shadow
section toggles the shadow on or off. Once you turn the shadow effect on, the
previously grayed-out properties become active.

panel turns on the shadow effect for

Shadows are used to create various spatial effects. There are two types of shad-
ows available: drop shadows and inset shadows. The following image shows the
four different shadows. Top left is a normal drop shadow. If you reduce the Blur
value and increase the Spread value, you create a shadow with hard edges (top
right). Setting the x and y coordinates to 0 creates an evenly distributed glow
effect (bottom left). The last example shows a colored shadow. Not only can you
set the color of a shadow, but also its opacity. These settings are made in the
Color Picker dialog.

The inset shadow behaves in a similar manner. As the name suggests, the
shadow is placed within (and does not go beyond the edges of ) the shape.
With the inset shadow, you can create pseudo-gradients that resemble a radial
gradient, and give simple shapes a more 3-D look.
