BEACHES
Bar none, these are Puerto Rico's best and most diverse beaches - some of which are com-
monly listed among the best in the world. Visitors splash around and soak up the essence
of the Caribbean daydream.
SNORKELING
The clear water, variety of fish and coral structures are mesmerizing. Unlike snorkel des-
tinations which require a boat, these are within a short swim of the sandy beach.
CYCLING
When (or maybe if) you tire of the water, there's plenty of wind-swept coastal rides past
fields of wild horses to fill an ambitious afternoon on a bicycle. The network of cycling
roads on Vieques isn't difficult and can be extremely rewarding.

ARCHITECTURE
A mix of elegantly restored colonial mansions and tattered historic structures on the verge
of collapse, Ponce has some of the most interesting architecture on the island.
MUSEUMS
Ponce hosts museums on political revolution, musical heritage and history, but the one that
might be worth the trip from San Juan in its own right is the recently renovated Museo de
Arte de Ponce.
