Most accommodations have wi-fi, and Gretchen's Da Bar across from the ferry terminal is
a handy free hot spot.
Culebra Community Library ( 10am-2pm Thu-Sat & Mon-Tue; ) In a trailer
across from El Eden restaurant, this welcoming volunteer-run library has three computers
($5 per hour donation requested) and wi-fi. Visitors can borrow from its excellent selection
of books and magazines, in (mostly) English and Spanish. Excellent children's room.
Media
Culebra Calendar ( www.theculebracalendaronline.com ) is the island newsletter and has
complete listings of upcoming events, jobs, tide tables and articles on important Culebra
issues.
Medical Services
Despite its small population, Culebra has good health services. Basic toiletries are carried
in local shops, but it's wise to bring things such as condoms, saline solution and contact-
lens supplies.
Clinic( 787-742-3511; 7am-4pmMon-Fri) In town on the road to Punta Melones;
has drugs and resident doctors. There's no pharmacy on the island, but the clinic can order
prescriptions, which get flown over from the mainland.
Hospital ( 787-742-0001; 24hr) Adjoining the clinic, the hospital has a 24-hour
emergency room. The island also keeps a plane on emergency standby at the airport for
medical transport to the main island.
