travel together. Both people pay the basic rail fare, but the charge

As I discuss in more detail a bit later, there's another impor-
tant consideration when making the coach-versus-sleeper deci-
sion: dining-car meals are included in your sleeping-car fares. For
this particular trip, that would mean a dozen meals at no addi-
tional cost for those two people.
Remember, these fares would be higher in June, July, and
August, which is the peak travel period, or when any given train
is close to being sold out. The bottom line? Coach travel wins
hands down if cost is your most important consideration. But
