In-Depth Information
Here the type elements sit atop the image and can easily be read. The type and image are clearly separate yet
work together to form a harmonious relationship.
Directing the eyes
The Gestalt principle of “continuation” suggests techniques for helping the viewer's eyes
flow smoothly—or continue—through a design from one object to another. The
continuation effect is generally quite subtle, but it can be more obvious. For example, an
obvious line of continuation is an arrow pointing to another element. You can achieve a
more subtle form of continuation by aligning an important element with the line of sight of
a human subject in a composition.
