In this slide with a bulleted list, we will notice the background image first (in this sense it becomes figure), but
we are quickly taken into the type, which now becomes figure. The type is clearly sitting on or in front of the
image, but our eye may go from the type to the subject of the image and back again. This kind of figure-ground
dynamic makes even simple visuals more interesting.
The slide contains a relevant and beautiful image, but the text is too hard to see, making for a weak figure-
ground relationship.
