Both of these versions distort the data—especially the slide on the right, which takes much more time to
make than a simple bar chart. The slide on the right is appealing, but does not help the viewer see or
remember the percentages among the six nations used.
Although I prefer the simpler chart, this picture graph at least does not distort the numbers (the bar for
China is too long, but the end burns off to become the appropriate length).
These are different variations of the idea of using pictures in place of simple lines or bars. Even though
the data is very simple, it takes more work to understand the numbers.
