In-Depth Information
This NASA video animation shows the abundance of carbon monoxide at 18,000 over a 3-day period. The slide
background was set to black to match the background around the animated earth.
Effective use of video
One effective way to use video in a slide presentation is to have it playing in the
background while text displays. In this example, the video of factory smoke plays
smoothly in the background as text comes in to match the content of a question from the
presenter. The text stays onscreen and smoke billows slowly as discussions ensue
based on the presenter's question. Throughout the video clip, there is always enough
contrast between the background smoke and the text. A drop shadow on the text makes
it pop out a bit from the background but in a subtle way.
