something more than the native categorization tools.
the extended campaign categorization can help you organize the campaigns
beyond one level. keep in mind that yet again, this is not just about the ability to open
up a tree of categories, as shown in Figure 3.2, but about creating an opportunity to
work with multiple dimensions. Figure 3.2 reveals four levels of categorization:

these categories are set up under settings > manage Campaign Categories. see
Figure 3.6 for an illustration of the manage Campaign Categories screen.

Your imagination is your only limit when customizing your categories. However,
you are more likely to use this tool to replicate your marketing channel mix and setup
in your web analytics campaign categories.
as you can see in Figure 3.6, the first level, Channel, is fixed and cannot be
changed. the only thing that is changeable is the choice for you to have the campaign
category enabled or to have the campaign category displayed in reports.
if you choose to enable the campaign, you make the campaign visible in the
Custom report Wizard, cross-reference filters and drill-down options, and so on.
aside from user rights management, i find it difficult to name a situation where you
would not want to do this. so i highly recommend you select Enable whenever adding
a category.
