Services API
The Yahoo! Web Analytics Web Services API
enables you to create software programs and appli-
cations beyond and in conjunction with Yahoo!
Web Analytics. You can read and execute most

reports from within the system. The exported data
can be used in any number of ways, such as build-
ing your own custom dashboards, adding to infor-
mation on your intranet, and performing analysis
using the Yahoo! Analytics platform. It is not just a

pull (read) API, but also a push (write) API, which
lets you put data back into the Yahoo! system.
Such data might include merchandising categories,
as described in Chapters 4 and 10. Use this appen-
dix as a reference and inspiration for what is pos-
sible. You can supplement this appendix with the
official Yahoo! API guides and manuals.
