In-Depth Information
the definition of dashboards as a whole, there should be no need for notes on the dash-
board. i do, however, like the functionality and try to see this feature as a sticky note
added to a printout.
The notes support standard hTML syntax. as you can see in Figure 9.34, you
must first enter the note's title.
Figure 9.34 Adding a note dashboard item
once you enter the title, you are taken back to the dashboard, where an empty
note has been added. Click the edit button to apply the text. For our example, i added
the following text:
<H2>SEO Dashboard</H2>
This Dashboard is created for the Search Engines Optimization Operational
Team. The Dashboard is also used as a reference point in Monday morning
meetings. Send change suggestions to
<a href=”mailto:dennis.mortensen@evcrp.com“>Dennis</a>.

The text results in a formatted dashboard note item that looks like the one in
Figure 9.35.
Figure 9.35
Our formatted note
in Figure 9.36 we have all the items we created on one dashboard. Does this
mean this is a great dashboard? no! it is just a representation of all the items for your
reference, and it should by no means be seen as the perfect dashboard or as a unique
seo team dashboard.
i will provide a number of real dashboard examples in the insert, so you can get
some inspiration from those.
