After making these changes, we have to restart the service so that it takes effect. In the
Configuration Manager, click on
SQL Server Services
, right-click on
SQL Server
(SDEDB)
, and then click on
Restart
, as illustrated in the following screenshot:
You have now enabled remote access to your database. Next, you will learn how to con-
nect and manage your database.
Note
Make a note of how I keep saying database and not geodatabase. The reason is that this
database is not yet enabled for geographical operations. We will learn how to enable it
later in this chapter.
