Adding subtypes to the new feature class
We need subtypes to differentiate between the different types of restaurants. To add sub-
types, perform the following steps:
1. Open
ArcCatalog
and browse to your
Bestaurants_new
geodatabase.
2. Right-click on the
Food_and_Drinks
feature class and select
Properties
.
3. Activate the
Subtype Field
tab and select
CATEGORY
as the subtype field.
4. Add the subtypes, as shown in the following screenshot, and select
Restaurant
as
your default subtype:
