the norm, so your current 1080p monitor will be quite adequate for some

Racing Wheel
A racing-wheel peripheral is a true luxury for auto-racing-simulation enthu-
siasts. The Logitech G27 Racing Wheel is the best I've used in its price range.

The force feedback brings an elevated feeling of immersion and the leather
steering wheel and gearshift hood ooze quality. Of course, if you're not a fan
of racing games, acquiring this expensive peripheral is hard to justify. But if
you love driving and tinkering with cars as much as you love building and
tinkering with PCs, the G27 (shown in the following figure) makes driving
games a blast to play.

Game Controllers
For the gaming generalist looking to emulate a gaming-console experience on
the PC, a number of gamepads exist. These controllers range from cheap
plastic to solid gold in terms of quality, but the game controller I consistently
reach for when playing platform-style games is Microsoft's Xbox 360 Controller
