hold the drive in place. The front of the optical drive should be flush with the
front of the PC case, as the next figure shows.

Now that our SSD, HDD, and optical drives are mounted, we need to connect
the SATA data cables and power cables to each drive. Use the SATA cables
that accompanied the Maximus VI motherboard, preferably the ones with the
right-angle SATA connector. This type of cable will not stick out as much from
the back of drive. Therefore, it will stay out of the way of other internal com-
ponents and the side cover of our PC case. Insert the five-pin power connector
that came with the RM850 power supply into the power port of each drive,
as the next figure shows.

Note that the five-pin power connector has several power plugs that you can
use in a daisy chain to power multiple drives from a single wire (such as the
SSD and HDD); see the next figure.
