ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Narayan Bhattarai serves as an assistant
professor of bioengineering at North Carolina
A&T State University (NCAT), Greensboro, NC.
He graduated from Tribhuvan University of
Nepal with an MSc degree in chemistry. He
obtained his PhD in materials engineering from
Chonbuk National University, South Korea. His
graduate research was on the synthesis and
characterization of biodegradable polymers for
biomedical applications. Before joining NCAT,
he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University
of Washington, Seattle, where his research
projects included developing tissue engineering
scaffolds and diagnostic nanoparticles for cancer
imaging and treatments. Currently, his research
and teaching interests are in biomaterials,
polymer science, nanomedicine, and tissue
engineering.
Princeton Carter is a Master's candidate in the
chemical, biological, and bioengineering depart-
ment at North Carolina Agricultural and Techni-
cal State University. He holds a BS in biomedical
engineering from the University of Virginia,
Charlottesville, VA. His research interests include
the fabrication and characterization of bioscaf-
folds for various tissue engineering applications.
He intends to pursue a degree in medicine upon
graduation.
