In-Depth Information
Of course, many of the classical works have been rewritten, sum-
marized, and republished a million times over. Any of these topics
would be fine to get a good understanding of foundational educational
theory, particularly considering how much I have crammed into this
one topic.
Allan Baddeley: Working Memory
Baddeley's working memory theory laid the framework for a lot of
what we understand about how short-term memory is recoded into
long-term memory over time. Many modern theories are based on
Baddeley's original observations. If you desire a greater understanding
of the learning taking place when a learner is seeing audiovisual pre-
sentations, and can't quite figure out how long-term memory works,
this is a great place to start.
