Appendix: Further Reading
In this appendix, I am going to outline all of the various stuff I have
referenced throughout the topic. My work is the result of the work of
years of scholars before me, and I hope you will seek further knowl-
edge in this area by looking up their work, buying their topics, and
reading, reading, reading.
Richard Mayer: Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning
Mayer's Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning forms the basis for
a lot of the research I've done in my university and professional career.
The theory contains well-wrought principles forged in years of research
that support different methods of learning from multimedia. Many of
these were illustrated throughout the topic as game design principles.
We only scratched the surface of the principles and the research sup-
porting them, however. If you are interested in further reading on the
topic, I would suggest picking up the following topics:

Press.

sciences. Hershey, PA: IGI Global.
