Khorog has an ever expanding selection
of accommodation including numerous
homestays (typically US$10 to US$15) at
which you should assume shared toilet
and bathroom facilities. Ask PECTA (p346)

This is the best place
in the Pamirs to meet fellow overlanders
and independent travellers. Rooms are sim-
ple, either mattresses on raised platforms
or newer rooms with un-plastered stone
walls and fresh-smelling wooden beds but
no other furniture. The orchard garden is
a pleasant spot overlooked by a wide open-
sided balcony-passage where travellers sit
for hours swapping tales. Hot shower, out-
side toilets, breakfast (US$3) by arrange-
ment.
