Looked at as a group of pages, you can see
how People Design approached their page
grid. Each page is designed to the same
proportion, although the content of each page
determines how much of the page fills up
vertically.
The farthest-left column is the main
navigation. It is always in the same position
and fills the same width on every page.
All other pages have an underlying grid made
up of many small columns. It allows for
flexibility—not everything is exactly the same
width on each page, because different types of
content need different amounts of space.
