In-Depth Information
The menus are full of visual feedback and clev-
er thinking. No visitor will feel the frustration that
arises when you realize that you've just unintention-
ally loaded a project you've seen before. Simple color
changes in type and background act as breadcrumbs
to help the viewer stay oriented to where they are
and what they have already viewed. The menus them-
selves are clearly organized, with navigation that
makes it easy to change levels or topics with one click.
As you might expect, all of Bennett's project images appear with blinding
speed. But even so, he provides feedback for each project group as it loads with a
“percent complete” readout. The images stay in the computer's cache for as long as
you remain on the site, so if you do decide to review a project, there is no load time
at all.
This was one of the main goals
when developing my website: to try
and produce a high-impact portfo-
lio that would fill a user's screen as
much as possible.
