fourfull-timeworkersImetwereoncehomelessdrunkards.Theywerethefirsttobetaken
off the streets to be fed and given shelter. They were so moved by the sisters' generosity
and kindness that they dedicated themselves to helping others at the home who were pre-
dominantly children and adults with mental and physical needs.
FatherSchneiderandIreturnedtoClaremontandhadalatelunchtogether.Icycled
backtotheBoullestogetreadyfordinnerwithWianandhisfiancéeattheDutchReformed
Church's mission house. Afterwards, we drove up to the Rhodes Memorial from which I
saw Cape Town at night- what an incredible view.
Later on in the week, I cycled into Langa (where the N2 and N7 intersect) to meet
Cathy at the police station. She escorted me to her place of work where I met many street
childrenwhoneverattendedschool.Iwasthenescortedtotwoschoolstodoapresentation
with a Xhosa interpreter.
The next morning, I returned to Bishops School and addressed the senior students
during their chapel service. I then headed to Herschel Preparatory School where I had tea
with the school director and spoke to over 200 children for one and a half hours. I signed
autographsandstayedforluncheatingwiththestudents.Again,thehonorariumsweregiv-
en to STC-Cape Town.
