them, you can do so by going to Display > Select Viewport Image , which
will select the currently active viewport image, allowing you to manipulate it
as needed.)
That is the i rst way to set your scene. It works well and allows you to model
over the top of the artwork so you can get the proportions correct. The only
drawback is the lack of perspective view reference.
You can i nd the Silo scene created in this section in Chapter05/Files/
ViewportImages.sib (the texture paths might need adjusting to i t your
setup).
T e xtured Geometry
The next method we will look into is to apply our model sheet images onto
two polygonal planes. This will allow us to see the reference images in the
scene, with our model close to them. Unlike the previous method, we will
actually be able to see them in the perspective viewport and work with them
interactively.
(Note: This is a more advanced way of setting up the viewport images, so if
you are not feeling coni dent just yet, feel free to skip this section and come
back to it later.)
We i rst need to create the polygons we are going to apply the model sheet
images to.
As illustrated in Figure 5 5, right click in any viewport and go to Create >
Cube (or press Alt C).
