O rganic Modeling—Basic
Base Mesh
We are now ready to hit Silo and start working. You should have all the
materials you will need, but don't feel you have to rush into modeling; the
more preparation time you have the better equipped you will be.
In this chapter we will create a generic, cartoon style base mesh you can use
on any project, be it virtual sculpting or modeling. This will be the foundation
for our Rocket Girl, and while building it you will also be introduced to Silo's
main modeling toolkit.
(Note: At this stage, feel free to skip this chapter if you have your own base
model, or don't want to create a base mesh from scratch. We do, however,
recommend reading through this chapter, as it will get you acquainted with
some of Silo's key tools.)
