Finally, Bevel the outer edges of the i n to sharpen its overall shape. You
can see the dif erence this makes in Figure 10 24.
We have one main area to look at before we can move on. She needs some
sort of visor to protect her eyes as she l ies. The concept art doesn't tell us how
this should look in too much detail, apart from a piece of glass over her eyes,
so let's take a chance and create a rim for the glass to sit in.
Following Figure 10.25 , start by Beveling the edges on either side of her
face. These are on the nose plate, and the area near her ear.
Select the inner faces of these and Extrude them, pulling the geometry
toward her cheek (Figure 10.25c).
Next, create a Bridge between these to complete the loop.
A s a i nal step, Bevel the edge loops closest to the helmet. The areas
where this new rim joins the helmet are too soft so we need to harden
them slightly (Figure 10.25e).
