We can now work with the new geometry to form the jaw line, and clean up
the topology.
First, select the edges shown in Figure 8.41a .
Merge these edges to bend the edge loops around the jaw line.
We now have a triangle (Figure 8.41b). Rather than remove this, we will
simply use the Spin Edge tool ( / ) to select and turn the edge until it moves
the triangle (Figure 8.41c).
Now select and Merge the edge ring above the triangle, and around the
back of her head (Figure 8.41d).
Finally, Delete the edge dividing the two remaining triangles.
Now adjust the shape of the jaw line to bring it out of her neck and give it
more dei nition ( Figure 8.42 ).
Let's now look at the upper part of her head and see if we can optimize it
further.
Following Figure 8.43 , i rst create a Cut running down and around the
base of her head.
Create two Cuts either side of the new triangles (Figure 8.43b), Deleting
the crossing edges after.
