At the front of the nostril, we have a weird problem. Although we have quads,
the way the topology is formed has created sort of a pole ef ect.

Select the edges at the front of the nostril (Figure 8.10a).

these edges.

Merge
the two edges highlighted in Figure 8.10c.
This leaves us with an n-gon, but we no longer have the pole type pinch at the
front—easily the lesser of two evils.

Moving on to Figure 8.11 , create a
Cut
across the n-gon we just created as
shown. This removes the n-gon, and gives us some more geometry to play with.
