muscles, we have ended up with a pole above the knee. It is probably best to
remove this, as it will result in an unwanted pinch in the model's surface.
We will continue the horizontal cut above the knee around the leg.
Following Figure 7.6 , Cut the two polygons just above, and to the side of,
the knee (Figure 7.6b).
Next, select the vertical edge ring seen in Figure 7.6c, and press X to divide
it ( Figure 7.6 d).
Create two more Cuts , connecting the previous cuts with the edge above
the knee (Figure 7.6e).
This leaves two triangles, which can easily be removed by deleting the
edge between them.
With the pole removed, we can now adjust the knee further to enhance the
shape (Figure 7.7). The adjustment is subtle, but now the knee looks more natural.
Let's continue down to her lower leg and include the shin and calf detail.
Again, we are only after subtle shapes here, not dense muscle masses.
What we can do i rst is continue one of the last cuts we created when
removing the pole above the knee. This will give us an extra row of edges to
help dei ne the shinbone.

FIG. 7.6 Rework the knee area to remove the pole.
