In-Depth Information
FIG. 6.47
Create a new cut across
the clavicle.
Select the edges moving across the front of her clavicle, before turning
the selection toward her back (Figure 6.47b).
Cut these to give you an extra edge loop (Figure 6.47c).
We now need to clean up some of the redundant edges. Select the ones
highlighted in Figure 6.47d, the edges that are mainly part of existing
triangles or n-gons.
Merging these will now clean up the topology and remove all but one
triangle, and one n-gon at the front (Figure 6.47e).
Finally, create the Cut seen in Figure 6.47f, deleting the edge behind it to
change the triangles into a quad.
We now have a much cleaner back and shoulder area, with great topology
that follows her body's natural muscles.
Save your scene before we continue.
(You can i nd the Silo scene created in this section in Chapter06/Files/06_
TorsoBack.sib.)
Waist
Let's work our way down the body now and look at the hips and waist area,
along with her buttocks.
What we can do initially is use a couple of the cuts we created for the torso,
which were left open, and join them to add an extra edge loop around her hips.
Select the series of edges shown in Figure 6.49. Start on the inner crotch
area and work your way around and up her back.
Press X to create a Cut .
